What It Is
The Asian American Youth Scholarship was created to give motivated students more than financial support.
Who it's for
High school and undergraduate students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership potential, and a clear sense of professional direction.
What recipients receive
Scholarship awards toward higher education, alongside exposure to experienced judges and professionals from across medicine, law, finance, and business.
What makes it different
Students are evaluated through a structured presentation, so the award recognizes preparation, character, and initiative — not a form.
How It Works
A Structured Evaluation, Not an Application Form
Through a selective and structured evaluation process, participants are given the opportunity to:
Present themselves professionally
Each participant delivers a formal presentation before a panel of judges and community leaders.
Articulate their goals
Students speak to their career direction with clarity and confidence, supported by their own experiences.
Meet experienced evaluators
Judges are drawn from CAAF's board and professional partners across a range of fields.
Be valued for more than grades
The program recognizes preparation, character, and initiative alongside academic record.
What Students Present
Presentation Topics and Prompts
Participants prepare and deliver a formal presentation addressing one of several guided prompts, allowing them to show both direction and reflection.
Participants select from prompts centered on:
- ‣ Identifying a specific career interest and the experiences that led to that choice
- ‣ Exploring personal values and decision-making factors, for students still refining their direction
- ‣ Discussing an intended area of study and the motivation behind pursuing that field
Across all prompts, students reflect on:
- ‣ Experiences that shaped their goals — internships, service, leadership, or personal challenges
- ‣ The values and motivations driving their interests
- ‣ How their past experiences connect to their future plans
